About Me

Hello, I am Sean

Hi readers! I’m Sean, the founder and creator of FinanceBySean.com. First of all, thank you for reading my content, and also, thank yourself—you’re making a proactive choice to grow in the field of finance and prepare for a future of abundance and wealth.

I started this blog because I want to make a difference in my lifetime. Money is something we can’t avoid, yet many people dislike thinking about it, even though it affects most aspects of our lives. My goal is to simplify personal finance and make it accessible to everyone.

My journey into personal finance began during my early to mid-college years while studying physical therapy. Surprisingly, I first heard about investing at a church talk, which sparked my curiosity. The idea that money wasn’t inherently bad—and that it could grow with minimal effort—fascinated me. I thought, Wait, money making money without me doing much? Count me in!

From then on, I dove deep into learning—watching YouTube videos, reading blogs and books, and discussing finance with my patients and friends. One topic led to another, and before I knew it, I was hooked. The more I learned, the more I realized that, with the right steps, early retirement wasn’t just a dream—it could be my reality.

As I continued to absorb wealth-building knowledge from various authors, I discovered the freedom that financial independence could offer. Having control over my time and choices became a powerful motivator. This realization fueled my passion for sharing what I’ve learned with others.

So here I am, dedicating my time and efforts to making personal finance fun and easy to understand! I’ll be honest—I’m still on my own financial journey. I’m not a multi-millionaire (yet), and I don’t believe you need to be one to share valuable financial insights.

Currently, I work full-time as a physical therapist while running a side business in home health therapy. Despite my busy schedule, I aspire to grow this blog into something impactful—something that will make a real difference in your life. Yes, I’m talking to you, my awesome reader!

I’m here to share my knowledge and show that financial freedom is achievable for anyone willing to take the right steps. Let me end with this story…

A Realization of Abundance
I once imagined myself carrying a heavy backpack full of cash, walking through a busy city. In my head, I saw myself constantly stuffing more money into the bag, grabbing extra shifts at work, cutting back on every little expense, and taking on side gigs just to keep adding to the pile. I thought I was being smart, securing my future. But as the bag got heavier, I found myself moving slower.

Meanwhile, I noticed people around me enjoying their lives—having meals with loved ones, traveling, experiencing new things—while I was focused only on collecting more. Then, I pictured a man sitting at a café, calmly sipping his coffee. He had money too, but instead of hoarding it, he was using it intentionally. He looked at me and said, “Saving is good, but money should work for you. It’s not just about keeping it—it’s about using it wisely.”

This was not a dream—it was a realization I had about my own life. I had been so focused on saving that I felt restricted, as if money was a burden instead of a tool. True wealth isn’t just about accumulating money—it’s about balancing saving, investing, and conscious spending on things that bring real happiness. Instead of holding onto every dollar with fear, I learned to let go where it made sense—investing for the future while also spending on experiences and things that truly add value to my life.
That realization reshaped my perspective, and from that moment on, I sought to make money work for me rather than just accumulating it. And now, I want to help others do the same.
